ENERCON is uniquely suited to serve clients working to deploy new commercial nuclear power plants as an Owner’s Engineer.  Typically the Owner’s Engineer is an extension of the project developer with the responsibility to provide applicable knowledge and experience in overseeing project activities to ensure project success.  This can include review of design and documents prepared by the reactor technology vendor, site characterization contractor, or other technical contractors.  The Owner’s Engineer monitors schedule, budget and quality for project activities and may also provide oversight of the implementation of quality, safety and health, and environmental protection programs during site characterization and construction.

ENERCON has the required breadth of skills and experience to serve as Owner’s Engineer for new nuclear power plant development.  ENERCON has supported the commercial nuclear power industry in the United States for over 30 years including supporting licensing, construction completion, turnover, and startup testing for the current generation of operating nuclear power plants.  In addition, ENERCON has been in the forefront of the nuclear industry in the United States in supporting deployment of new nuclear power plants including selection of sites, evaluating feasibility of sites, evaluating reactor technologies, performing site characterization, and preparing licensing documents.  This breadth of experience provides a solid foundation for serving as Owner’s Engineer for a new nuclear power plant deployment project.

The Owner’s Engineer is typically also responsible for helping the client to develop its capacity to manage and operate the proposed nuclear power plant.  ENERCON’s diverse staff of experts in all facets of nuclear power plant design and operation are exceptionally qualified to help develop the capability of client staff through training, mentoring, coaching, and overseeing the work of the client staff as skills are acquired and knowledge enhanced.
